al marinaio assetato

 

al marinaio assetato un barile d'acqua dolce
una pozza d'acqua all'ombra al beduino
terra non sassosa al contadino
e a tutti e tre una donna
cui dare il desiderio
d'essere ancorati
d'aver riparo, ristoro e un frutto...
ad una ragazza un vestito e sguardi
ed il rispetto innanzitutto
che i millenni le hanno negato...
e poi il diritto a tutto quello che ha rubato
e nascosto nel seno

to the thirsty sailor a drinking water barrel
a shady pool of water to the Bedouin
stone cleared land to a farmer
and to the three of them a woman
to give her their desire
to be anchored
to have shelter, some care, a fruit...
to a girl a dress and glances
but above all respect
which for ages she was denied...
and then the right to what she's stolen
and hidden down her breast...
