flood

I could just wait until the music
comes from under the door
to make out the tune of it
from the key hole to see
whether it is minor or major key
the swing the rhythm blows
until the full beat is on the floor...
and like magic
coming again and again
it will tell of the longing
already at work
laying siege on the hinges
having them creak
shake and jerk
and the purpose no joke...

like a barge against wind
let the bisons' herd
rushing uphill
unhinge the door and overwhelm me
with a smile a call
my life's gain
turned insideout and flooded
by your rising presence
music seeps
from the basement
book boxes are barges bumping
below the cellar's ceiling
emotions are swelling and thumping
everything is tumbling to your feet
my queen

inondazione

potrei attendere finché la musica
venga da sotto l’uscio
studiarne la tonalità
dal buco della serratura
capirne la chiave
studiarne l’andatura
finche il ritmo non verrà...
e come una magia
tornando all’infinito
dica della nostalgia
che già sta lavorando
i cardini circondando
per farli scricchiolare
fremere e sobbalzare
e sia chiara l’intenzione...
come barcone contro vento
s’impenni la mandria di bisonti
sulla collina
e scardini la porta e mi travolga
con un sorriso, una telefonata
la vita mia è di nuovo
sconvolta ed inondata
dalla tua presenza...
la musica dilaga
sale dalle fondamenta
le casse dei miei libri sono già barconi
sotto il soffitto nella cantina
s’ammassano emozioni...
stai prendendo possesso di tutto
sei la regina
